Wiesenhertzen

hvf facility

Hannoverian, Foaled 1981, 16.1 hands by Wendelin out of Arnika x Abseits

Wiesenhertzen, barn name Visa, was the first addition to Haven Valley Farm. Visa was the classic dressage type riding horse, with rectangular-shaped conformation and long lines. She was a very willing worker with wonderful trainability. On the ground she was exceptionally sweet, making her a favorite in the barn. She had a successful dressage career under Marian Hutchins, competing through Fourth-level dressage. However, when making their debut at the Prix St George level Visa sustained an injury at the competition that she was never able to fully recover from. She was then retired from competition, and bred to the infamous Dutch stallion, Roemer, to produce Katrina.

Visa is now deceased, but she will always be fondly remembered at HVF. She was a special mare with a sweet temperament which has been passed down the line.

Dutch Warmblood (KWPN), Foaled 1992, 16.1 hands by Roemer (Pref.) out of Wiesenhertzen x Wendelin

Katrina is the first generation foaled at Haven Valley Farm. She is a lovely, chestnut mare with a refined build. As a four-year old she was bred to Contango, producing Precious Tango. After producing her first foal she began her career as a dressage horse under Marian Hutchins. Marian competed Katrina successfully through Third-level dressage, at which point they then embarked on an eventing career. Katrina quickly progressed through the levels to the prelim-level of eventing, with many top place finishes on the way. Katrina’s dual competition career was ended early so that she could be used as a broodmare. In addition to Tango, she was bred back to Contango twice more to produced Achatez HFV and Bronte HVF, both stand at Haven Valley Farm.

Katrina passed away in February of 2012, but will be remembered at Haven Valley Farm through the success of her offspring.

Tango

Dutch Warmblood (KWPN), Foaled 1997, 16.1 hands by Contango (Pref.) out of Katrina x Roemer (Pref.)

Precious Tango HVF is a beautiful, sweet, bay mare, with the presence of her daddy, Contango. Tango is a lovely mover with exceptional jumping ability. She has fantastic scope, technique, and form over fences. She competed successfully through the Intermediate level of Eventing with many wins at all levels. Tango proved to be the perfect three-day event horse: focused and elegant in dressage, brave and athletic in cross-country, and careful and clean in show jumping. Aside from her physical talent, Tango has a great personality. She is very intelligent, and has been known to open gates, stall doors, and jump freely in and out of her pasture!

Tango was bred to UB 40 in 2011, which resulted in a lovely filly, Hertzen HVF- foaled in May of 2012. Tango has been bred back to Bosch Blue, a very promising young Dutch stallion who boasts some of the world's best jumping bloodlines, including Contender, Mr. Blue, and Goodtimes. This match should result in an exceptional jumper.

Bronte

Dutch Warmblood (KWPN), Foaled 2006, 16.2 hands by Contango (Pref.) out of Katrina x Roemer (Pref.)

Bronte HVF is a beautiful mare with a lot of presence. She has been started under saddle and has proven to be a very trainable horse with good work ethic. She is a lovely mover with natural balance in all three gaits. She has excellent ground manners and a sweet disposition towards people.

Bronte was bred to Broere Jazz (Pref.) x Cocktail (Pref.) x Purioso (Keur) for 2011. Jazz is KWPN approved and stands in the Netherlands. At his stallion testing in Ermelo he scored an 8 for his walk, 8.5 for canter, and a remarkable 9.5 for his hugely expressive trot. Jazz has been ranked the number one producer of dressage horses by the World Breeding Federation for Sport Horses (WBFSH) and Federation Equestre Internationale (FEI) for three consecutive years, 2008-2010, an amazing achievement!
