HVF COMPETITION HORSES

hvf facility hvf facility hvf facility

Haven Valley Farm specializes in breaking and starting young horses and bringing them through the levels of both dressage and three-day eventing. Our horses are active competitors in both United States Dressage Federation (USDF) and United States Eventing Association (USEA) recognized competitions. HVF homebred horses, as well as clients’ horses, are backed and started on the farm between two and three years of age. As four year olds the horses begin their dual competition careers, competing at nationally recognized competitions around the mid-west.
By competing our horses in both disciplines early in their careers, we are able to choose a discipline direction for them by weighing both their physical ability and talent, as well as their mental capacity, so they may be truly successful.

UREAUS

Dutch Warmblood (KWPN), Foaled 2001, 16.1 hands
by Metall out of Gralda (Elite Pref.) x Purioso (Keur)

Ureaus is an expressive, bay gelding with a beautiful head and neck. He was imported as a three-year old from the Netherlands by Haven Valley Farm. He has exceptional movement in all three gaits, and is a highly sensitive horse, making him a fantastic top level dressage prospect. Not only does Ureaus have great physical attributes, but he has a very unique personality, and is affectionately called “Curious Ureaus” around the barn, due to his zest for life!
Ureaus has competed successfully through 3rd level dressage, with placings at top USDF recognized shows around the Midwest, including Lamplight, IL. While dressage is the primary focus for Ureaus, he has also competed successfully as a three-day event horse at the lower levels.
